Which is the right snus for you?
If you already are a snus user you probably have one or a couple of snus favorites. But if you are new to snus and aren’t sure about which snus is the right one for you, this section might be helpful. Of course, finding the right snus is not done in a few minutes. It takes a long time and quite often the snuser changes his or her snus preference. It is a bit like enjoying wine. Some wines can only be savored with an acquired taste. It is just the same with snus.But let’s start with something a little less complicated shall we. One of the first things to ponder when choosing the first snus is whether you should go for loose or portion snus.
Loose snus is the original Swedish snus. This kind of snus was first produced for over two hundred years ago. Loose snus needs a little more handling than the portion snus. But on the bright side, with loose snus you can get exactly the size, shape and density of the pinch of snus that you prefer. This is probably why some of Sweden’s hard core snusers prefer loose snus. Loose snus is available in three different fraction sizes. The different sizes affect both the handling of the snus, the taste and the entire snus experience. The three sizes are coarse, medium coarse and fine.
The portion snus has existed in Sweden since the mid 1970´s. Portion snus is a kind of snus that is pre pact in portion sizes. The portion bag works just like a teabag. In fact the tea bag was a big influence when the portion was invented. The portion quickly became very popular in Sweden and today it is even more popular then loose snus. One of the great benefits with portion snus is that is very clean and it is almost invisible under your lip. This is probably why there are a lot of women that use portion snus. This does not mean that portion snus is a girly version of real snus (even though some of the hard core snusers might think so). Still it is mostly men that are using the portion snus. Most people that are new to snus are using the portion snus. And that is probably why the portion snus is constantly gaining popularity.
Of course there is a lot more to snus than just portion or loose. There is really only one way to find out which snus that is the right one for you. The only way is to try different sorts. If you have some experience of snus you might be able to pick out some different snuses that you probably will like. But if you are new to snus you might need a helping hand. Luckily there is help for you. You can try some of the try out boxes and starter kits that contain different kinds of snus. That’s a great way to discover the world of snus and to find out what you like and what you don’t like.
